‘Bookies have blatantly got it wrong, the prices will switch’, say confused punters ahead of huge weekend showdown
PUNTERS are convinced they have spotted a clanger from the bookies ahead of a huge weekend showdown.
Horse racing superstars Teahupoo and Lossiemouth will lock horns in a 2m 4f humdinger at Fairyhouse in Ireland on Sunday.
Punters think Lossiemouth is a good thing on Sunday[/caption]It will pit the Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle champ against the Mares Hurdle winner.
Teahupoo has opened up at 4-6 in the betting market, with Lossiemouth at 6-4.
But in light of the favourite giving away 7lbs in weight and concerns over the ground, many are convinced the market is all wrong.
One posted on X: “Bookies blatantly have that wrong! If it’s not heavy ground Teahupoo has no chance.

Ashington Dave wrote: “Will be interesting, Lossiemouth for me, not convinced Teahupoo is the real deal… this is a good test.”
Another added: “Only one winner there and that’s Lossiemouth”, while Paul Milner wrote: “She might have a bit too much speed for him.”
George Parrish posted: “Over 2m4f id have to side with Lossiemouth, especially at the prices.”
And Lawrence Watson is convinced of the outcome, adding: “Lossiemouth for me all day long. Will even venture and say by 5 lengths.”
HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON HORSE RACING
There are only four entries for the Bar One Hatton’s Grace Hurdle, with outsiders Beacon Edge, around a 25-1 shot, and Maxxum at 100-1, completing the field.
That will mean Irish trainer Gordon Elliott will have three of the four horses in the race – but Lossiemouth, trained by the legendary Willie Mullins, was unbeaten in four starts last term.
She is the current Champion Hurdle favourite for Cheltenham Festival 2025, but missed the Morgiana Hurdle last weekend.
