China's Defence Minister Dong Jun is being investigated for corruption. This follows similar probes into two previous defence ministers. The military has seen a widespread anti-corruption campaign. Dong declined a meeting with the US Defence Secretary last week. He was appointed in December 2023. He was not promoted to the Central Military Commission this year.
