Bears predictions: Week 13 at Lions
The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Thursday at the Lions (11:30 a.m., CBS 2):
Rick Morrissey
Lions, 35-17: How about some cooked coach to go with your Thanksgiving turkey? On-his-way-out Matt Eberflus keeps talking about his team’s togetherness. Together, they’re going to get pounded by the Lions. Season: 8-3.
Rick Telander
Lions, 34-16: Some of you might remember that I picked the Bears to win by a point last week against the Vikings. It was my last giddy moment. I’ll never do that again. Season: 6-5.
Scoop Jackson
Bears, 33-30: This will be the game in which the Bears’ ‘‘expected potential’’ will be judged. Even if they never reach this level for another two years, this will be the game where the best of whom the Bears ‘‘could be’’ shows itself to us in full. Season: 7-4.
Patrick Finley
Lions, 40-24: The last time the Bears were this much of an underdog — 10½ points — they lost to the Chargers by 17 in a game quarterbacked by Tyson Bagent. Season: 9-2.
Jason Lieser
Lions, 34-20: The Lions have a couple of 40-point games and two 50-pointers. They’ve been destroying bad teams lately. They’re a powerhouse, and the Bears are far from it. Season: 7-4.
Mark Potash
Lions, 31-23: Though the Bears are in a difficult spot (playing on the road on a short week), they play the Lions tough and are well-equipped for an upset. At this point, though, you have to see it to believe it. Season: 7-4.
