Search for Susan Lane-Fournier enters fourth day
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The search for missing Brightwood resident Susan Lane-Fournier is now in its fourth day as scour continue to search the Mt. Hood National Forest for signs of her whereabouts.
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ross Clemson told KOIN 6 News that rescuers are using drones to aid with the search Tuesday. The search began on Nov. 23, after Lane-Fournier’s white Ford F-250 was located on Salmon River Road near the Green Canyon Way Trail, south of Welches. The 61-year-old was reported missing the previous day after she failed to show up for work.
“Our search teams are back in the field today, continuing efforts to find Susan,” Clemson said. ‘Currently, we have four teams actively searching, with plans to deploy multiple drones to assist in today’s operation.”
Lane-Fournier’s friend Cari Geshc, who first reported Lane-Fournier’s truck abandoned on the roadside, told KOIN that officials towed the missing woman's truck from Salmon River Road on the night of Nov. 25.
Lane-Fournier's son, Dakota Lane, told KOIN 6 he's only slept about eight hours total since his mom was reported missing on Friday.
"It's been too long," Lane said. "The entire family is freaking out and kind of under the same, same concern. But we're still holding out hope."
Lane-Fournier's friend, James Evans, said he's done about 30-40 hours of searching so far.
"I'm about ready to take a kayak down the salmon River right now. And, just one last time," he said.
Earlier this month, Lane-Fournier filed for divorce against her husband of twelve years.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office did not say if any additional evidence has been collected since the initial search for Lane-Fournier began.
