Scarlett Johansson Says Turning 40 Is ‘So Liberating’
Ah, aging. In many ways, it’s a universal human experience, and yet we all perceive it so differently. For example, Tom Hanks recently described 35 as the worst age. But on the other hand, Scarlett Johansson just turned 40, and she loves it. Asked about her recent milestone birthday on Live With Kelly and Mark, she was effusive. “It’s only been three days, but it’s great,” she said. “And you also don’t care what anybody thinks, which is so liberating.”
So how did she celebrate this very special birthday, you ask? Her husband, Colin Jost, had it handled. “He’s very good at gift-giving; he always buys beautiful jewelry,” she told the hosts. “He threw me a humongous bash this year. It was a surprise, and I had all the martinis for everyone. I can’t wait to see the photos so I can remember the night.” As someone who will one day turn 40, it’s nice to know that at least one person is having such a positive experience with it.
