Strictly fans point out star’s ‘big mistake’ saying it’s ‘cost him a place in the final’
STRICTLY viewers have shared their fears for one particular contestant as they approach the upcoming Quarter Finals.
Fans have claimed that this could be the end of his quest to lift the Glitterball – because of the bad choice of dance.
The stars battled it out last weekend for a place in the Quarter Finals[/caption] JB and Lauren performed a Charleston last week – but fans aren’t hopeful now[/caption]Last week, JLS star JB Gill and his partner Lauren Oakley performed the Charleston and sailed to the top of the leaderboard with 39 out of 40.
They were also awarded an extra seven points from winning the Samba-thon, meaning they were tied at the top with Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec.
For the looming Musicals Week, JB will be performing the Viennese Waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins – and fans are certain it’s the wrong dance to see them go through.
One user commented on Reddit: “I really fear that JB not doing a dramatic dance (e.g. a Paso) might have cost him a place in the semis. I’ve been rooting for him from the start I want him and Lauren to make the final, however he should’ve at least done a dramatic dance.”
A second noted: “I think the problem for JB is that Pete is doing a romantic waltz which will be popular with the public, so he’ll hoover up that vote. If we imagine that Pete will escape the DO, who does that leave in it? JB, Montell and maybe Sarah.”
A third predicted: “I think JB will dance against Montell in the dance off.”
“No chance Sarah will be in the bottom two. I think all of the dance off possibilities are most likely; JB vs Montell. Montell vs Tasha. JB vs Tasha,” penned another fan.
Appearing on It Takes Two, JB said about the dance: “Obviously, Mary Poppins is a classic. I love doing ballroom dances and ballroom routines.
“The Viennese Waltz isn’t easy but it is fun and I think this song in particular is just uplifting. I can really identify with the character as well.
“Of course, musicals week, you want to have that flare, have that pizazz that musicals deserve and you want to make sure you get all the steps and stuff right, but actually you have to be in the moment and really enjoy it.”
For week nine, the pair impressed the judges, but despite them narrowly missing out on the top score, fans at home noticed how JB almost ‘dropped’ Lauren.
During the routine he flipped her during a lift and she came down fast and hard on her legs, just avoiding the floor.
The judges have been under fire once again with fans blaming them for last week’s shocking elimination.
The dance-off saw Jamie Borthwick and Montell Douglas go head-to-head for their place in the competition.
Jamie and pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas danced their Foxtrot to Stand By Me by Ben E. King, before Montell and Johannes performed their Quickstep to Get Happy by Ella Fitzgerald.
The judges all shared how difficult the decision was, but ultimately all decided to save Montell.
Fans were left outraged following Jamie’s exit from the show.
Many later insisted the judges “plotted” for Jamie to leave, insisting it should have been Chris McCausland or Pete Wicks instead.
