Gregg Wallace stands little chance of saving his career – he’ll need a Christmas miracle after ‘sexual jokes’
TOXIC men, be gone! Your time here is done.
Gregg Wallace needs a Christmas miracle to save his rapidly toppling career.
That he’s been done for an alleged series of deeply inappropriate “sexual jokes” does not seem to have surprised anyone too much.
The only surprise, perhaps, is that it’s taken this long for any definitive action – an investigation – to be taken.
Of course, some may argue he’s just the latest poor, misguided bloke to fall foul of a bunch of snowflake women who cannot take a joke.
But when football-loving, train-model-making Rod Stewart thinks you’re unfunny, you know you’re in trouble.
In this day and age – and coming hotly on the heels of Jermaine Jenas and Giovanni Pernice – Gregg, surely, stands little chance of saving his career.
Rod hit out at Gregg, claiming he “humiliated” his wife Penny Lancaster when she appeared on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021.
In a scathing post, Rod said: “So Gregg Wallace gets fired from MasterChef. Good riddance Wallace.
“You humiliated my wife when she was on the show, buy you had that but cut out didn’t you?
“You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya.”
Among the 13 complainants is BBC Newsnight host Kirsty Wark, who said he told “sexualised” jokes during filming on Celebrity MasterChef in 2011.
Other allegations include Gregg talking openly about his sex life, taking his top off in front of a junior staffer and telling another young colleague he wasn’t wearing any pants.
BBC News today confirmed they launched a probe into Gregg in the summer after claims were made regarding five shows between 2005 to 2022.
