Charlie Hunnam Auditioned For These Roles But Didn't Book Them (He Even Turned Down a Chance to Play a Superhero & to Appear on 'Game of Thrones')

You might be surprised by some of the roles that Charlie Hunnam came very close to booking.

The 44-year-old star has become a fan-favorite actor in Hollywood since making his debut in the ’90s. His popularity exploded with Sons of Anarchy in 2008. Since then, he’s starred in a variety of movies, the most recent being 2023′s Rebel Moon.

Like any actor, there have been some projects that Charlie auditioned for, which ultimately did not work out.

Over the years he’s opened up about six projects that he could have appeared in. Some of them he was offered and had to turn down. Others he did not book. The list includes two popular superheroes and roles in several other top-tier franchises.

This summer we learned about Charlie‘s next big project so we got curious and decided to round up all of the roles that got away and what he had to say about them.
