A teenage girl has been charged with the murder of a homeless man who was attacked near King’s Cross.

Anthony Marks, 51, died after being assaulted on Cromer Street in the early hours of August 10.

He was homeless and is thought to have been sheltering in a nearby bin shed.

A 17-year-old boy has previously been charged and remanded in custody to face trial next year.

Scotland Yard said today that a 16-year-old girl from Brixton has also been charged with murder.

She is in custody and will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later.

Neither youth can be named because of their ages.

Police are still trying to find Mr Marks’ family.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee said: ‘Sadly, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to identify next-of-kin for Anthony and I urge anyone who can help to contact the investigation team.

‘I am also very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident but has not yet spoken with police.

‘There were a number of people in the area at the time of the murder and we know that some of those people tried to help Anthony.

‘If you are one of those people please do get in touch with us.’
