During the game against Zhang, Trump scored a staggering 527 points in a row, though this was still 29 points off the record set by Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Trump, seeking his first UK title since 2011, beat Neil Robertson in the opening round before going all the way against John Higgins.

But the 35-year-old has suggested some players aren’t willing to put in the work to achieve results.

Speaking on the BBC, he said: “I put the hard work in, everyone else is looking for some quick fix.

“Some players aren’t willing to put the long hours in and to get to the top you have to do that.

“I do need to pace myself sometimes, but I still know after this tournament finishes, whether I win or lose, I have to get back on the practice table.”

Speaking about his previous games in York, he added: “I dodged a bullet against John and sometimes when that happens you feel like you’ve got another life.

“I knew my form wasn’t far away, just sometimes I’ve been a little bit too cagey.

“Today I felt a lot better than yesterday and the day before.”

The winner of the Trump-Wilson semi-final will land in the final against one of Barry Hawkins or Mark Allen.

The winner will pocket £250,000.

Trump vs Wilson

SNOOKER's Class of '92 are fading away - with two English superstars ready to forge a new era.

Judd Trump has declared he’s ready to battle reigning world champion Kyren Wilson for “the next 10 years” or more.

Current world No 1 Trump admitted Wilson’s meteoric rise over the last twelve months has “pushed him forward” as a player.

The Class of ’92 refers to the legendary trio of Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins, and Mark Williamson.

With 14 world titles among them, the three players have dominated UK snooker over the past three decades.

But as their powers begin to fade, Wilson and Trump appear ready to fill the rivalry vacuum.
