One dead after two-vehicle crash in Nemaha County
NEMAHA COUNTY (KSNT) - One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Nemaha County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Crash logs, just after 11:40 a.m. Saturday morning, a 2017 Ram truck that was holding two people was heading Southbound on W Rd., when a 2017 Honda CR-V, holding three, was traveling Westbound on U36 Highway.
At that time, the driver of the Ram failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the Honda broadside. Both vehicles came to a rest on the South side of the intersection.
As a result, an occupant of the Honda, William Novotny, 35, of Lawrence died in the crash.
Both the driver and passenger of the Ram were taken to Hiawatha Hospital with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Honda was also taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries while another passenger, a 3-year-old, was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.
