Body found by kayaker in Lady Bird Lake, police investigating

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was investigating a deceased person found in Lady Bird Lake.
According to police, the body was found at approximately 8:15 a.m. Sunday by a kayaker in Lady Bird Lake near Brazos Street. APD said the body was removed from the water and appeared to be a woman in her 60s who was experiencing homelessness.
The department said it was unaware if there was any drug or alcohol use, and according to detectives' observations, the woman was possibly trying to stay warm.
Nothing regarding the woman appeared to be suspicious, according to APD. The incident is being investigated as a deceased person.
