The Sikh clergy at the Akal Takht has pronounced religious punishment for Sukhbir Singh Badal and other Akali leaders for mistakes committed by the Shiromani Akali Dal and its government from 2007 to 2017. They are directed to serve as 'sewadars' at various gurdwaras and clean utensils and shoes of devotees.
