KDOT warns of highway closures in Topeka for bridge repair project

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kansas transportation officials say they are planning to close some local highway ramps on Tuesday as part of a larger bridge repair project in Topeka.

Kate Craft with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release that workers will temporarily close some ramps in association with work on the U.S. Highway 75 flyover bridge project. The southbound flyover bridge to eastbound I-70 and Gage Boulevard will be shut down from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. or until the work is completed.

Drivers will also find the eastbound I-70 ramp to northbound U.S. 75 will be closed for this project but traffic will still have access to Gage Boulevard. The closures are being conducted for the installment of safety nets under the southbound flyover.

KDOT's detour for this project will take drivers on southbound U.S. 75 to westbound I-70, Fairlawn Road and back to eastbound I-70 or Gage Boulevard. Drivers on northbound U.S. 75 will take the Gage exit, then enter westbound I-70 to the northbound U.S. 75 ramp.
