16-year-old charged with attempted murder in connection with Eunice shooting
EUNICE, La. (KLFY) -- A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting last week, authorities said.
Eunice Police were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to the 500 block of South 2nd Street in reference to a shooting. Investigators said three people were standing at the intersection of West Oak and South 2nd Street when they were shot at by another person, later identified as a 16-year-old male.
Officials said the juvenile was a passenger in a vehicle who got out at some point and began shooting at all three people. The three fled the area after being shot at and no injuries were reported.
The juvenile was later located by officers and taken into custody, authorities said. Police suspect that this was a targeted incident, but no motive has been determined.
The 16-year-old has been charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder. Bond details were not released.
