Man who sexually assaulted woman while she slept sentenced to 8+ years
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man was sentenced to over eight years in prison after a Washington County jury convicted him of multiple sexual abuse and domestic violence charges, officials announced Monday.
David Hilton, 39, was found guilty of first-degree sodomy, first and third-degree sexual abuse and harassment. Additionally, all charges constituted domestic violence. He is now required to register as a sex offender.
"(Hilton) engaged in sexual relations while the victim slept and without her consent. The victim called Hillsboro police on an unrelated matter and told them of these incidents. Investigators spoke with the defendant, and he admitted to initiating sexual contact while the victim was asleep," officials said.
While Hilton was in custody at the Washington County Jail, he violated a no-contact order and made several calls to the victim, urging her to drop the charges, authorities said.
