Lawsuit filed by family of airman killed in Osprey crash
(NEWS10) -- The family of the Pittsfield native killed in an Osprey crash in 2023 has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the aircraft's manufacturers.
Staff Sgt. Jacob Galliher, along with seven other U.S. servicemembers, died when their Osprey aircraft went down off the coast of Japan in November 2023. The lawsuit against Boeing and Universal Stainless alleges negligence during manufacturing caused the aircraft to fail.
The United States Osprey fleet was grounded for four months following the crash.
