Austin Reaves to miss second straight game with pelvic contusion
The Lakers will be without Austin Reaves on Monday as he remains out with a pelvic contusion.
After his hard fall against the Thunder, Austin Reaves is set to miss his second straight game on Monday. Reaves did not play against the Jazz on Sunday, but was listed as questionable ahead of the Lakers’ stop in Minnesota.
However, Reaves was ruled out pregame, along with Jalen Hood-Schifino, who is dealing with groin soreness. Reaves is still considered day-to-day, as Redick revealed pregame.

Following this current back-to-back, the Lakers have a day off before playing the Heat in Miami. Perhaps some Florida sun will help Reaves heal up a bit faster.
Being considered day-to-day doesn’t offer much into the outlook on when Reaves will be available. Considering he had a bit of a mini ironman streak going after playing every game last season, I would imagine he’s will play as soon as he’s able.
That being said, that fall was as nasty as they come. It was a surprise that he returned to the game that night and not much of a shock that he has missed time since.
The good news for the Lakers is that D’Angelo Russell and Cam Reddish both will return from injury. Russell will assume Reaves’ spot in the starting lineup after Vincent took that role on Sunday.
D’Angelo Russell will replace Gabe Vincent in the starting lineup tonight, per JJ Redick.

Losing JHS but gaining D’Lo and Reddish is a net positive for the Lakers. Heading into Minnesota, it’s going to be a tough ask to pick up a win while shorthanded, even if it’s an inconsistent Timberwolves team.
The hope now is that the Lakers can get healthy by the end of this road trip.
