Woman sentenced after boyfriend suffocates while zipped in suitcase
A woman convicted of zipping her boyfriend up in a suitcase until he suffocated has been sentenced to life in prison, according to a report.
Sarah Boone was given life in prison in a Florida courtroom on Monday, CNN reported. The Florida woman recorded the ordeal, which showed how the incident unfolded.
Boone, 42, said she was drinking with her boyfriend, Jorge Torres Jr., when he agreed to climb into the suitcase and be zipped inside as a joke, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in the report.

The video, however, contradicts the claim. Instead, Boone had videos on her phone of Torres begging for help and saying he couldn't breathe. She told him that it was revenge for cheating.
Police revealed that an autopsy of Torres revealed he had long fingernail scratches on the upper back and neck, as well as bruises to his shoulder and head consistent with blunt-force trauma.
Despite being shown the video by police, Boone maintained her innocence, saying Torres died of hide-and-seek.
Torres' family spoke at the sentencing hearing, telling Judge Michael Kraynick that Boone “not only killed my son, she killed a father, a brother, an uncle.”
“Sometimes when I look out the window, I’m waiting for him to come and say, ‘Mom, I love you,’” his mother, Blanca Torres, said.
Anna Victoria Torres, one of his daughters, called her father "incredible" and said the incident left her with anxiety and depression, CNN affiliate WESH reported.
She also said that a year after his death she was still waking up “screaming every morning or night wishing I was having a nightmare, only to wake up and remember all over again that my father is gone."
