Britain’s best holiday park revealed with indoor pool, famous nearby beach and the ‘best sunsets’
A HOLIDAY park near one of the UK’s most famous beaches has been named the best in Britain.
Piran Meadows in Newquay won the accolade at the Hoseasons Awards earlier this month.
Awarded the Best in Britain Holiday Park, is it a short drive from Newquay Beach in Cornwall, popular with surfers.
Gemma Brown, the general manager at Hoseasons, said: “The team at Piran Meadows Resort truly deserve this award.
“The standard of accommodation, facilities and service across our portfolio has never been higher, so to be named Best in Britain is a fantastic achievement and a testament to them delivering exceptional guest experiences.”
And earlier this year it underwent a huge renovation following £8million investment.
This included a new indoor swimming pool and spa, as well as outdoor splash area.
A bar, restaurant and Costa lounge were also part of the new leisure facility.
Many of the lodges were renovated too, with a range of caravan pitches and lodges.
This includes 11 lodges, or 104 static homes, or plots that can be bought for personal use.
The largest on-site is the six-bed Piran Cottage, with space for 12 guests and private garden.
Otherwise there are activities such as zorbing, archery and fencing, as well as sea scooters and raft building.
Even if it rains, there is an indoor soft play for under sevens.
The park’s sales manager Gavin Hewitt said: “This is a park like no other, it’s a unique location which appeals to all.
“One thing we can’t take credit for is the amazing views we have here, and the most incredible sunset you will ever see.”
It is open all year round, and even non-guests can visit with passes from £25 although only outside of the peak July-September season.
Previous guests have raved about the holiday park.
Someone wrote: “Best caravan site we’ve been to.”
One person called it the “perfect place for a quiet Autumn getaway”.
Others raved the indoor attractions in case the weather, with arcades and play areas for to keep kids busy.

As an adult, I fully appreciate the convenience of a humble caravan holiday.
No faffing about with passports, no luggage limits and no bog-standard hotel breakfast of stale toast and grey eggs.
I still love caravan holidays as an adult.
In a world of doing everything for the ‘gram, a caravan park brings you back to basics.
There’s no obligation to get dressed up, no stress to fit a million picturesque excursions in one week and I don’t find myself flustered in tourist hot spots like abroad.
I love going to coastal caravan parks and strolling along the beach parade.
My highlight is always fresh mussels, ice-creams and classic pubs to grab an afternoon tipple in.
And then, of course, there’s the cost.
Staying in a caravan is definitely way cheaper than my international trips.
With no expensive hotel bills and the ability to cook my own meals, I’m spending hundreds less than I would abroad.
I’ve had some of my best and most relaxing holidays in caravans. Maybe I’ll buy my own one day.
He told Sun Travel: “While most independent holiday parks have fewer facilities compared to the big names, there are some that compete on scale and activities, including Ladram Bay in Devon, Searles in Norfolk and Hendra Holiday Park in Cornwall.”
