Strictly’s Janette Manrara admits she feels like a single mum as she struggles with Aljaz’s hectic work schedule
STRICTLY’S Janette Manrara has admitted she feels like a single mum as she struggles with Aljaž Škorjanec’s hectic work schedule.
Janette, 41, hinted her marriage has been tested by the dancer’s rehearsals and live shows, which make it difficult for him to be home as much as he would like.
But, despite feeling the strain, the TV personality said she often jokes with friends about her solo parenting experience.
She told Hello! magazine: “I think the hardest bit has been the travelling up and down, because I have to take a train down once a week.
“We stay in a hotel and, and because Aljaz’s schedule is so crazy, I’m kind of doing it on my own a little bit. I kind of plan ahead and schedule the week without considering him in the picture because his schedule kind of changes daily with Strictly.
“So I keep saying to my friends that I feel like I’m a single working mum at the moment for the last three months. But Lyra is such a good baby and she’s so content and she travels all right.”
Janette and Aljaž thrilled fans when they welcomed their baby girl Lyra last July.
The couple announced they were expecting their first baby back in March.
Aljaz and Janette got engaged in 2015 and then married on July, 15, 2017.
The pair had an astonishing three weddings in various locations, including Slovenia and Disneyland, when they married in the summer of 2017.
They’d been together for six years before that.
Janette quit her job as a professional dancer on Strictly two years ago so she and Aljaz could try for a baby.
Since then she’s been made host of Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two.
Meanwhile, Aljaz has continued on the Strictly dancefloor, this year in a couple with Love Island star Tasha Ghouri.
The couple told how they were first planning on starting IVF just before Janette fell pregnant naturally.
