2 men indicted for hit-and-run crash that killed Portland woman
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Two men have been indicted for their involvement in a hit-run crash that killed a woman back in September.
On the night of Sept. 27, Portland police responded to reports of a crash near East Burnside Street and Northeast 113th Avenue.
On arrival, they found a woman, identified as 37-year-old Cameron Barton, dead at the scene.
At the time, authorities said any possible suspect vehicle or vehicles were nowhere to be found.
However, after police located the vehicles believed to be involved, a grand jury indicted 39-year-old Julio Salazar-Arias and 26-year-old Sergio Cruz on Nov. 29.
Police said both men turned themselves in on Thursday and were lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of failure to perform the duties of a driver.
Cruz also faces an additional charge of initiating a false report.
