Chunky Panday’s younger daughter, Rysa Panday, has been making waves on social media ever since her debut at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes 2024 in Paris. The 20-year-old dazzled like a princess, stealing hearts with her beauty and grace. While Rysa’s stunning look garnered much attention, a Pakistani debutante has now taken the spotlight with her appearance, becoming a trendsetter in her own right. We’re talking about Hanna Hussain, who debuted at the 2023 ball and captured everyone’s attention. Not only did she make history as the first Pakistani participant at this grand event, but she also left a lasting impression with her exquisite diamond-and-emerald necklace worth over Rs. 22 crore. This 200-year-old heirloom necklace outshone even the most opulent collections of Isha Ambani, Shloka Mehta, and Radhika Merchant, leaving everyone, including fans of Ambani’s jewelry, in awe.

Hanna Hussain stands out at the Paris ball

Every year, young women from wealthy families, aged 17 to 21, make their debut in society by attending this prestigious event. When Hanna Hussain from Pakistan was given the opportunity to participate for the first time, she paid special attention not only to her outfit but also to her jewelry.

In the photos that are doing rounds on social media, Hanna is seen wearing a stunning Elie Saab gown, which gave off a Disney princess vibe. Interestingly, Rysa Panday also wore a gown from the same label during her debut at the ball.

Hanna’s beautiful look was completed with a light pink strapless gown. The corset-style upper portion featured delicate flower petal designs around the neckline, while pink, blue, silver, and golden sequins created floral vines, adding more elegance to the design. The upper part of the skirt was beautifully crafted, while the lower portion remained plain with a long trail, making Hanna look absolutely gorgeous.

Hanna Hussain wore a diamond and emerald necklace from 1810

However, it wasn’t Hanna Hussain’s gown that stole the spotlight, but her jewelry. The necklace she wore not only carries a multi-crore price tag but also has a rich history dating back to 1810. To ensure that her necklace received all the attention, Hanna chose not to wear any additional jewelry, making sure that all eyes were on her exquisite piece.

The necklace features a stunning criss-cross design made from diamonds and emeralds. The upper layer is adorned with square-shaped emeralds of the same size, with a drop pendant hanging in the center. The middle of the necklace boasts a large pendant, while the sides feature two emeralds studded with diamonds, enhancing its magnificent appearance.

The History of the Necklace

According to jewelry influencer Julia, the 1810 diamond and emerald necklace was originally gifted by Princess Maria Carolina of Italy to her granddaughter. Later, it was passed on to Princess Helena of Orleans, who sold it to French socialite Sybil Sassoon. Afterward, Sybil lent the necklace to her friend, Lady Churchill, a Nobel laureate.

However, when Sybil passed away, Christie’s auction house sold the necklace for 2.6 million USD, which is more than Rs. 22 crore in Indian currency.
