National Academy of Sports: Discovering the next Filipino champions
MANILA, Philippines – The search for a new breed of Filipino champions is on through the National Academy of Sports (NAS).
Signed into law by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2020, the government-run NAS offers handpicked student-athletes full scholarship, which includes meals, accommodation, learning materials, and monthly allowance, among other benefits.
The goal is to develop new sports heroes who will follow in the footsteps of Olympic champions Hidilyn Diaz and Carlos Yulo. – Rappler.com
