Portland drag performer wins big in televised competition show
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Asia Consent, the Portland-based drag performer was crowned season six winner of 'The Boulet Brothers' Dragula', the televised horror-themed drag competition show Monday night.
The season six crown of 'The Boulet Brothers' Dragula' was given to local Portland drag performer, Asia Consent. The season started on October 1, 2024 when not one, but two Portland artists took to the screen. The second Portland artist, Majesty, was a returning contest from season two and was the franchise's runner-up in 2017.
The 10-episode season showcased the contestants' drag, filth, horror, and glamour with Consent rising above the competition. The winner of Dragula is awarded a $100,000 and the title of 'Dragula, The World's Next Drag Supermonster'.
Throughout the season, Consent shared the struggles she's faced as a trans, Black performer. Not only did she succeed at winning over the judges, but Consent also overcame the extermination process of the show when receiving an unsightly tattoo.
