Mitchell Starc creates World Record: Becomes player to reach THIS massive milestone in day-night Test matches

India team is currently facing Australis in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 at the Adelaide Oval. The match is a day-night Test with the pink ball. The Indian batters needed to be aware of the left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc, especially since he has had an incredible record with the pink ball.

However, the Indian batters could not face the fast bowling of Starc as he reached a massive milestone that none of the player in the history of the game has ever achieved.

Starc has been in form on Day 1 of the second Test between India and Australia. He began the proceedings with a shock as he took a wicket in the very first ball of the game as he got rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

He came in the rescue once again for Australia when KL Rahul and Shubman Gill were in fine form, as he dismissed Rahul. The big wicket of Virat Kohli was also taken by him, as he took the late wickets of R Ashwin and Harshit Rana.

This marked his fourth five-wicket haul in day-night Test matches, and he has hence become the first bowler in history to take 4 five-wicket hauls in a pink ball game. As a matter of fact, no other player has even taken more than two five-wicket hauls in day-night Test matches.

Mitchell Starc is the all time highest player to have taken the most wickets in history of pink ball Tests. With his five wickets in the 2nd Test against India, the sum-total Starc has reached up to 71. Hence, he became the first player in history to take 70 wickets in day-night Test matches.
