Rush Movie - The Sequel: George Vs Max
So the "F1 Besties Club" of the last few years has shattered.
George has declared war on Max.
I guess as a mostly British website most here are on team George.
My thoughts
Firstly BOTH are brilliant drivers on the top level, and both are speaking their mind, honestly as they see it.
To me Max was in the wrong baulking George in Qually, and cost him a likely pole, so the 1 grid spot drop was appropriate. But Max likely didnt know George was on the push behind him, The pit wall should have told him.
We will never know what was said in stewards room. George said max was swearing, word is he wasnt,
Nor will we ever know if max did say what George said he did.
Max, like many champions of all sports believes the whole world is out to get him, and thats what gives him the killer instinct. Maybe George needs a touch of that. He could have laughed in Max's face and walked away, instead of running to the press etc.
I like that Max speaks his mind, and i like his aggression on the track. He is the black hat, but at times oversteps and needs a spanking. I think of Senna and Schumacher. But I respect George as a driver too.
The sport needs this. If its all lovely chaps hugging each other it gets bland and boring. This is headlines, this gets people watching, taking sides.
As someone said o nce. To be passionate about any sport, its not about finding the one you love, its about picking one to hate.
So is Max a Mongrel... or is George a cry baby?
