SATURDAY GAMES

This weekend sees the 1st XV return to Kelleythorpe.  Following two tough trips on the road with nothing to show for the travels, the 1st XV will be keen to bounce back and get some points on the board as they welcome Ilkley.  Ilkley are one place above the Woldsmen in 8th place but tied on 22 points.  Both sides have a had a very similar start to campaign and will be keen to get the win on Saturday.  Since 1995, our 1st XV has played against Ilkley on 17 occasions, winning 11 of them – six of them at home.  Ilkley, like ourselves, are having a stop-start season in this very tough league.  Saturday’s game is huge for both clubs as both look to climb up the table.  Both teams play attractive, attacking rugby – the weather might have a say in how the game is played.  The squad has a couple of changes : Sam Robson starts at prop, James Morris is in the second row and we welcome back Rob Mewburn at open-side, after injury.  In the backs, Josh Barr and Ben Blacker make the centre combination with Robbie Rix moving onto the wing. Joe Robinson returns to take his place on the bench.

The 2nd XV also welcomes Ilkley to Kelleythorpe, with Ilkley 2s sixth in their league just one place and six points behind the 2s this is, no doubt, going to be a brilliant league fixture.

For travelling supporters to Pocklington : Kick Off – 14:15.  Pocklington RUFC, Feathers Field, Percy Road, Pocklington YO42 2QB

The 3rd XV have closed the gap to the league leaders Hullensians to just one point and currently sit second in the league.  Pocklington 2s are fourth in the league, only four points behind the Cents, so a win on the road this weekend will maintain pressure on top spot.

The 4th XV are fifth in their merit table, just outside the play-off places.  Pocklington 3s are sixth, making this a great derby fixture for the Extra Cents.

SUNDAY GAMES

On Sunday, the Ladies play their first home fixture since the 3rd November and first match in four weeks.  Southport Ladies currently sitting in eight place with one win from five games.  The last time the two sides met, it finished in a 24-all-draw away at Southport.
