British Airways has launched their latest Avios-Only flights[/caption]And its latest Avios-Only flights have been launched to four new destinations.
On sale for dates across August 2025, passengers can choose between Split, Corfu, Ibiza or Majorca.
Each flight costs just £1 to book, as well as Avios points ranging from 25,000 to 30,500.
One of the earliest options is London City to Ibiza, with availability from August 8 to 15 for £1 + 25,500 for return flights.
Or from August 15 to 22 there are Majorca flights from London City for £1 + 25,000 points.
Otherwise there flights from London Heathrow to both Split and Corfu are from August 23 to 29, costing £1 + 25,500 and 30,500, respectively.
Last year, British Airways‘ Avios-Only flights sold out in less than 24 hours, with the cheap routes to both Sharm el Sheikh and Geneva.
In response, they also launched flights to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Barcelona for just £1 plus Avios points.
Earlier this year, British Airways launched Avios-Only flights to Barbados too.
Launched to celebrate 70 years of flying to the island, the return tickets cost just £150 with 70,000 Avios points.
If you want to start earning Avios, you can do it without getting on a plane.
Traveller Mindy Athwal said: “I have a gold American Express card that converts points gained from everyday spending to any airline reward points.
“I use it for almost every purchase, big or small, bills where possible, fuel, and any large purchases, and I get points for expenditure I would make anyway.”
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, previously said they were also looking to add more ways of collecting Avios.
Where can I get Avios points?
The Avios rewards scheme lets shoppers earn points towards British Airways (BA) Executive Club flights, upgrades and hotel stays.
It partnered with Nectar in 2021, allowing shoppers to earn points with brands such as Sainsbury’s, Argos Esso, eBay, Caffé Nero and Vue.
Currently, every 400 Avios you convert gets you 400 Nectar points, or around £2.
For example, 1,200 Avios points currently gets you an £6 spend at Sainsbury’s.
This changed back in March this year.
Otherwise you can collect Avios points by signing up with one of these frequent flyer clubs: AerClub, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Vueling Club.
He added: “Members can use our shopping portal to collect Avios on their everyday spend with more than 1,500 retailers, whether that’s Sainsbury’s groceries, Trainline tickets or furniture from Argos.
“They’ll be jetting off to the sunshine on our next Avios-Only flight before they know it.”
