PRE-GAME REPORT: Vernon Vipers vs. Brooks Bandits

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers will look to turn their fortunes around tonight as they open a four-game homestand, hosting the high-flying Brooks Bandits.  Both teams come into this matchup eager to snap two-game losing streaks, setting the stage for an intense battle at Kal Tire Place.

The Vipers, sitting at 8-12-4, are coming off a challenging road trip. After being blanked 2-0 by the Powell River Kings, where Marko Bilic stood tall with 26 saves on 28 shots, the team is looking for more offensive punch. The night prior, the Vipers fell 5-2 to the Nanaimo Clippers, rounding out a tough stretch. Despite their recent road struggles, the Vipers have shown improvement at home, now 3-4-3 at Kal Tire Place, and hope the home crowd will spark a turnaround.

Meanwhile, the Brooks Bandits boast an impressive 18-3 record, the best win percentage in the league. However, they are also looking to recover after consecutive losses, including a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Keith McInnis scored the lone goal for the Bandits, while Johnny Hicks turned away 27 of 30 shots. Despite their recent stumble, the Bandits remain a powerhouse, going 8-2 in their last 10 games.
