Disney On Ice returns to MVP Arena with performances of 'Into the Magic'
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Disney On Ice is bringing some of the most beloved Disney characters to Albany for a performance of “Into the Magic." The show began on Thursday and will go on until Sunday. The performance combines several Disney movies into one show.
Over 40 skaters are touring the country to portray characters from the movies: Moana, Frozen, Tangled, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Coco. Disney On Ice skater Breelie Taylor said the show is one of a kind and takes on the challenge of bringing different movies together.
"We have so many different stories to tell and a million different ways to tell them," Taylor said.
Some skaters, like Erin Smith, have been skating for a while and have toured before, but she said that getting the chance to perform 'Into the Magic' is special to her.
“I have been skating for about 13 years, so it’s been a big part of my life, and to be honest, amazing," Smith said. "This is such a dream come true, and it’s a lot of fun to be able to be in an amazing production like this."
The show also includes tricks, iconic props, and replica costumes that allow the skaters to get into character.
