Saratoga County mourns the loss of K-9 J.D.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Retired K-9 J.D. of the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office passed away on Thursday. K-9 J.D. was a six-year-old German Shepherd.

J.D. had served with Deputy Rob Whipple as a patrol tracking and narcotics detection K-9 from 2019 until just recently before retiring due to medical reasons. He was living with Whipple and his family.

The German Shepherd had suffered a medical event on Thursday night and passed away on the way to a local veterinary hospital for emergency care. The sheriff's office asks everyone to keep the Whipple family in their thoughts and prayers.
