2025 Golden Globes TV nomination predictions: Official odds

0

The 82nd Annual Golden Globe nominations will be announced by actors Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut on Monday morning, Dec. 9, starting at 5:15am PT/8:15am ET on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes and the CBS News mobile app, and then on “CBS Mornings” starting 15 minutes later. More than 1,900 Gold Derby users as of this writing have made their nominations predictions in 11 TV categories. Those predictions have been combined to generate our official racetrack odds. Scroll down to see those odds, with our projected winners highlighted in gold.

If our consensus picks are correct, expect big things for “The Bear” and “Only Murders in the Building,” both of which are expected to receive five nominations, more than any other program. Though the Critics Choice Awards mostly snubbed “The Bear” this year, we’re betting on it for Best Comedy Series as well as noms across all of its eligible acting categories for leads Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri and supporting players Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Liza Colón-Zayas. As for “Only Murders,” it’s likely to receive the same nominations it got last year, for Best Comedy Series and for actors Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Meryl Streep.

But the two shows expected to win the most awards are “Shōgun” and “Baby Reindeer,” both of which are favored to prevail three times out of four predicted nominations. After dominating the Emmys in historic fashion, “Shōgun” is predicted to sweep the Golden Globe drama races with wins for Best Drama Series and for lead actors Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. “Reindeer” will take top honors as Best TV Limited Series/Movie in addition to victories for lead actor Richard Gadd and supporting actress Jessica Gunning. Those wins would replicate the Emmy results. In fact, we’re currently predicting all of the Globe winners to be a rubber stamp of the Emmy picks.

Do you agree with our forecasts below? There’s still time to make or update your own predictions here in our predictions center before the nominations announcement on Dec. 9.
