Pokémon trading cards stolen from Red Castle Games in burglary
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A significant amount of Pokémon trading card game items were stolen during a burglary at the Red Castle Games store in Southeast Portland early Saturday morning.
Around 2:45 a.m., officers responded to Red Castle Games on Southeast Foster Road after the burglar alarm was triggered.
When store owner Matthew Mičetić arrived and met with officers, he found the Pokémon trading card game items were stolen and the store itself was mildly damaged.
According to Mičetić, this is the store's first burglary in nearly a year and it came at a critical time.
"We're heartbroken to see this happen," he said. "Our store is built around creating a safe and welcoming space for our community. To face this kind of violation, especially during the holiday season, is incredibly disheartening."
Mičetić added the best way you can support the store in their recovery is to come visit when shopping for your next board game, RPG, trading card game or puzzle.
"Every purchase makes a difference and helps us recover and move forward," he emphasized.
If anyone has information in this case, they are encouraged to contact Portland police.
