Marcello Hernandez Crashes Paul Mescal's 'SNL' Monologue in a Pair of Short Shorts
Paul Mescal‘s opening monologue on the December 7 episode of Saturday Night Live featured a pair of short shorts and a cameo appearance from Marcello Hernandez!
The 28-year-old Gladiator II star is hosting the popular late-night show.
He kicked off his opening monologue by poking fun at his many dramatic roles before shifting the focus to his Irish heritage. Paul proceeded to debunk some misconceptions about his heritage, leading to Marcello‘s appearance.

“There’s a nasty rumor that Irish people have sex with our cousins. Right? That’s offensive and it’s ridiculous. We have sex with our second cousins,” Paul joked.
He continued, saying, “A lot of people ask if we were kilts. No that’s the Scottish. Traditionally, the Irish wear short shorts,” he said, flashing a photo of himself baring his legs in public.
Marcello joined him onstage wearing a pair of his own revealing shorts. However, Paul was not sure that he was doing them justice, saying that they were too short.
“The shorter the shorts, the taller you look,” Marcello responded.
