'Misstep': Election expert flags NBC host's 'deeply troubling' question in Trump interview
NBC host Kristen Welker is experiencing some pushback after a question called "deeply troubling" by one elections expert.
Welker interviewed Trump, and the video was released by the network Sunday. The president-elect lied about a variety of subjects in his latest NBC interview, according to a report from Rolling Stone.
Democracy Docket founder and elections attorney Marc Elias pointed to one specific question by Welker, who was ridiculed online after messing up President Joe Biden's name during a live report about Biden messing up names.

"Yes. And sir, I don’t have to tell you this, because you’ve talked about it. It comes at a time when the country is deeply divided, and now you’re going to be leading this country for the next four years. For the sake of unifying this country, will you concede the 2020 election and turn the page on that chapter?" Welker asked, according to an official transcript from the interview published this weekend.
Trump replied, "No. No, why would I do that? But let me just tell you --" he said before being cut off.
According to Elias, "This question from Kristen Welker was deeply troubling."
"Donald Trump should concede the election because he lost, because he lied, and because that lie led to the events of January 6 and corroded our democracy," he said.
Elias then added, "I hope this was just a misstep and not an effort to blur the truth to gain favor."
