Fashion fan shares ‘superman’ hack to ensure your tights never fall down again & people are hailing it a ‘game-changer’
HAVE you ever known the struggle of wearing tights and having to constantly hitch them up during the day?
A woman has revealed the perfect hack to keep your tights up and in place this Christmas season.
In a clip posted on the Silk Fred Instagram page, she showed the “Superman” hack which involves using a pair of pants.
After your tights and on, you simply put on a second pair of knickers on top, to prevent the tights slipping.
One fashion lover explained: “Depends on your problem with tights stops the gusset from drooping and it can prevent tights rolling down at the waist too.”
Silk Fred said the hack was shared to “combat tricky tights situations.”
The clip has clearly impressed shoppers, as it has racked up over 1,000 likes and people were quick to comment.
One person said: “Am i the only one thats gonna come clean and say they didn’t know this or rather ‘was never taught this’.
“Craziness. i feel robbed.”
Another added: “I’ve never seen this in my life and I’m 35.”
A third commented: “omg best idea !!”
However, some people said they had been doing the hack for years and said it is a game-changer.
One said: “I’ve been doing this for years, lol thought everyone did it.”
A second wrote: “How come people don’t know this? We used to do this at secondary school – it was the late 1970’s!”
Winter tights hack
In a TikTok video, Primark shared another simple fashion trick that will keep you warm in the cold weather when wearing tights.
The model in the clip began by showing off her fashionable fit, which featured a pair of love heart-print tights paired with a skirt.
In order to wear the tights, she added a barely noticeable item underneath.
The model showed her getting ready process, which revealed that she was actually wearing leggings under the tights.
Primark’s High-Rise Plush Lined Leggings are currently available for just £7.
They are designed to give the wearer “enhanced warmth” in cold conditions.
How to look chic on a budget
Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.
- Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
- There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
- Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse for not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.
