Stewards are paid to keep people safe. Plenty of grounds have stewards pulling people out btw

You are right here - they are supposed to keep people and players safe - not advocating them steaming in but they are there right in front of the divs throwing stuff, they could just film them and hand over the footage to the rozzers to action. Was a steward myself for a couple of seasons and we were encouraged to be hands on if necessary, always last resort though and tbf that was back in the 90's - probably changed now.
