SP walks out of MVA alliance in Maharashtra amid deepening cracks within INDIA bloc, to back Mamata Banerjee

The Samajwadi Party (SP) broke ties with Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over the Shiv Sena (UBT)'s pro-Hindutva stance after the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary. SP MLAs defied the MVA boycott of the assembly oath-taking, citing Sena (UBT)'s praise for the demolition.
