Isaac Guerendo injury update: 49ers RB goes to locker room in fourth quarter vs. Bears
The 49ers backfield is further and further depleted. Running back Isaac Guerendo is the latest to suffer an injury. We break down the implications and provide updates.
The San Francisco 49ers have been ravaged by injuries this season, and the running back position might be dealing with more than any other unit. Third string running back Isaac Guerendo had to leave Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears with a foot injury. He was spotted walking to the locker room with training staff and was announced as questionable to return.
Guerendo had 78 rushing yards and two touchdowns along with 50 receiving yards in the 49ers Week 14 contest. He replaced Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason, who were both previously placed on injured reserve.
Patrick Taylor has replaced Guerendo in the 49ers backfield with Deebo Samuel also getting rushing work. Ke’Shawn Vaughn made an appearance late in the game after joining the team earlier this week to add roster depth.
