Latest Report On Free-Agent Slugger Good News For Red Sox
Should the Red Sox miss out on signing Juan Soto, Boston apparently is in a favorable position to sign a different free-agent outfielder.
The Red Sox have been viewed as a potential landing spot for Teoscar Hernández, and the Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham on Sunday afternoon offered insight into the slugger’s mindset and market.
Abraham reported Hernández has told people while he would prefer to stay with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he has “long been intrigued” by the idea of playing at Fenway Park. Hernández also told those close to him he’s a fan of Red Sox manager Alex Cora.

LA long has been viewed as the favorite for Hernández.
“It could come down to the Sox and Dodgers,” Abraham posted on X on Sunday, noting the Hernández pursuit is contingent on the Soto sweepstakes.
MassLive’s Chris Cotillo on Saturday reported the Red Sox remain in on Hernández, but included the New York Yankees as another team in the mix for the two-time All-Star.
The Bronx Bombers are another team entrenched in the Soto rumors. Some of the most tied-in MLB reporters are projecting the Soto decision is nearing its conclusion.
