Yankees' Juan Soto Signs With the Mets, Inks Largest Deal In Sports History!

0

Juan Soto has reportedly signed the biggest sports deal ever!

The 26-year-old baseball player was with the New York Yankees this year, but after the World Series, he became a free agent once again.

Now, ESPN reveals he has signed a major, multi-million dollar, 15-year deal with the New York Mets!

Keep reading to find out more…

Jeff Passan at ESPN reported Sunday (December 8) that Juan and the Mets entered an agreement worth $765 million, the largest in professional sports history.

As part of the deal, sources say he has an “opt-out after five years and no deferred money,” plus, it “has escalators that can reach above $800 million.”

Previously, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed a $700 million deal for Shohei Ohtani for 10 years, but most of his salary was deferred for 10 years.

The length of Juan Soto‘s deal is also now the longest in MLB history, besting Fernando Tatis Jr‘s 14-year deal with the San Diego Padres, which was signed in 2020.

So far in his career, Juan‘s stats include 934 hits, 201 home runs and 592 runs batted in, with a batting average of .285.

He is a four time All Star, World Series champion and even a five time Silver Slugger Award recipient.
