Syrian rebel leader orders forces to avoid government institutions until power transfer

Ahmad al-Sharia, known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has instructed his forces not to approach state institutions until the power transition to government bodies is complete, following the announcement of the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

According to international media reports, the leader of the rebels stated on Sunday, December 8, that state institutions would remain under the control of Bashar al-Assad’s Prime Minister until an official handover.

Meanwhile, Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Jalali, in a video message, emphasized that he is prepared to transfer power to any group chosen by the people.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that he will not leave Damascus until the official transfer of power takes place.

The leader of the rebel forces also ordered his troops not to engage in airstrikes, declaring them prohibited.

At the same time, Syrian rebels have declared the complete collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government. Reports indicate that Bashar al-Assad was evacuated from Syria by plane and has gone to Moscow.

This rapid succession of events comes after rebels launched a military campaign to capture Syrian cities, which ultimately led to the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government within just two weeks.

These developments signal a significant shift in Syria’s political landscape. The future of the country remains uncertain as multiple factions now vie for power and control.
