New Minion Land with ‘world-first’ attraction that’s part of £3.9billion expansion to open at huge theme park next
IT’S GREAT news for fans of Despicable Me as a new themed Minion Land is set to open at Universal Studios Singapore next year.
Located inside Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Universal Studios Singapore is already home to several themed lands including Hollywood, New York and Sci-Fi City.

Part of a $5billion (£3.9billion) expansion at Resorts World Sentosa, Minion Land will replace Madagascar Land at the Singapore theme park.
Several new rides will be opening at the park in February, including Buggie Boogie, which is thought to be a world-first.
A description on the Universal website reads: “The first-ever Minion dance party-themed carousel makes its debut at Universal Studios Singapore!
“Guests can hop aboard your choice of super silly creatures and boogie to popular songs remixed by deejay Carl”.
Meanwhile, inside Gru’s Neighborhood, park-goers can tackle Despicable Me Minion Mayhem – a ride where they’re taken through Gru’s super villain lab.
Minute of Minion Mayhem is a new show for Universal Studios Singapore that will star Gru’s daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes.
Park-goers will also be able to meet their favourite characters from the Despicable Me films.
New restaurants and shops will also open at the Singapore theme park, including the Super Hungry Food Stand.
Inspired by Super Silly Fun Land, a fictional amusement park in the animated film series, the new restaurant will have game kiosks run by Minions.
There will also be several shops inside Minion Land like Sweet Surrender – a giant candy-themed store with themed merchandise.
Pop Store and Fun Store will also sell Minion goodies.
Earlier this year, the President of Resorts World Sentosa, previously said: “With its exciting line up of attractions, retail, and dining – some of which are exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore – Minion Land is poised to be a popular draw for both local and overseas visitors alike”.
Meanwhile, the president of new ventures at Universal Destinations & Experiences, Paige Thompson, added: “The Minions are such well-loved characters and this newest land builds on the incredible storytelling from the Despicable Me and Minions franchises, brought to life in an exciting, immersive theme park setting. Guests are going to love this new addition.”
Universal Studios Singapore isn’t the only theme park opening new rides and attractions next year.
Paultons Park is set to open Ghostly Manor next spring.
Ghostly Manor will replace the park’s old 4D cinema and will be both interactive and family-friendly.
Also coming to Paultons Park is a new viking themed land, set to open in 2026.
Little else is known about it currently, but it will replace the log flume and karting track.
And if you can wait a bit longer, a new theme park is set to open in the UK.
French theme park, Puy du Fou, revealed its interest in building a UK version of the resort last year.
