Amy Adams’ Daughter Aviana Gave Her Mom an Unconventional (But Heartwarming!) Makeup Rule
Some people wear a full face of makeup every day, while others haven’t worn makeup in years. Amy Adams did the latter for three years, all because of a sweet yet unconventional request from her daughter, Aviana.
In case you missed it, in a recent interview with People, the Arrival star revealed that she didn’t wear makeup because her daughter requested her to keep it natural.
“She didn’t like me wearing makeup,” she said about her 14-year-old daughter. “She’s like, ‘I just want you to look like Mom, not like Amy Adams.’ And I was like, ‘You got it.’ So there were years where I didn’t wear makeup wherever we went. I mean, I sneaked some mascara. But yeah, I wouldn’t wear makeup because she wanted me to be just mom.”
That’s why Adams went bare-faced for years: her daughter wanted her to be mom instead of a dolled-up Amy Adams.
For those who don’t know, Adams and Darren Le Gallo met back in 2001, specifically at an acting class. Per Vanity Fair, they actually worked on a short film together named Pennies, and started dating a year later. In 2008, they got engaged, and two years later, they welcomed their daughter Aviana, in 2010. They tied the knot in 2015, and have been on cloud nine since!
In a recent interview with People at TIFF, Adams made rare comments on motherhood.
“I think what I want her to know about my experience of motherhood is how much she’s enriched my life and made me the woman that I am today,” she said to the outlet, referring to her new movie. “I tell her that all the time, but it’s true and I’m glad that she’s here tonight to get to celebrate with me.”
