2 killed in Matteson shooting

A 20-year-old Indiana man was one of two people fatally shot Sunday afternoon in suburban Matteson.

Around 2 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Oakwood Lane and found the victims, one of whom was identified as 20-year-old Antoine Brown, officials said.

Brown, of East Chicago, Indiana, was pronounced dead at 2:24 p.m. at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The other person, a male of an unknown age, was taken to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said they don’t believe that there is an ongoing threat to the public, but no other details were given.
