DPD van raided in middle of London street by brazen thieves
Shocking footage has emerged of hooded men stealing dozens of parcels from a parked DPD truck.
The footage, taken from a home in Whitebarn Lane, Dagenham, east London, shows the men unloading an array of packages from the delivery truck into their car.
ASOS packages, Amazon parcels and more were passed from one thief to another, with the delivery driver no where in sight.
The thieves have been slammed as ‘disgusting’ and ‘brazen’ in their actions, which reportedly happened this morning.
Crime rates reach their peak during the festive periods of December and January, according to to UK Crime Stats.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Metro: ‘Officers arrived at the scene on Whitebarn Lane within four minutes and searched the area but no suspects were located.
‘A video circulating online appears to show three men removing items from a DPD delivery van and putting them into a black Vauxhall Corsa which had cloned number plates. No-one was harmed in the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.’
DPD has been contacted for a statement.
Days ago, similar footage emerged from CCTV in Nottingham of a woman who walked into an apartment complex and stole Amazon parcels.
Dressed in black joggers and a black jacket, she stacked a few other parcels on top of a larger one before looking both ways and walking away quickly.
Nottinghamshire Police are investigating after they found the footage while looking through CCTV on September 24.
Detectives believe the woman has stolen goods from the communal area on numerous occasions.
