Cairo-Durham CSD mourns special education teacher loss
CAIRO, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Cairo-Durham Central School District classes will not be in session on Monday due to the tragic loss of Special Education teacher David Gori. Gori passed away on December 3 at his home in South Westerlo.
The teacher's funeral mass began at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's in Saugerties. Calling hours were on Sunday at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
The school district announced that the counseling center is always available for students who need guidance through their grief. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to reach out to the counseling center and building administration for help during these times.
The district said Gori had been with the school for the past 23 years and was dedicated to student success. He is survived by his wife Ginger Gori and their family.
