Monroe man arrested after allegedly stabbing dog multiple times
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- A Louisiana man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a sleeping dog while he was drunk, authorities said.
Monroe Police were called to Blanks Avenue Saturday afternoon about a cruelty to animal complaint. Officers were told that the suspect, 25-year-old Tyler D. Cross, allegedly stabbed a dog with a knife while the dog was sleeping.
Authorities also learned that there was a video of the incident. Police contacted Cross, who allegedly told police that he did not remember anything due to him drinking alcohol, but that he took full responsibility for what he did.
Officers viewed the video observed Cross allegedly standing over the sleeping dog and stabbing the dog multiple times. Cross was then seen in the video telling his roommate that something was wrong with the dog.
Cross was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty. Bond details, or the condition of the dog, were not released.
