Man found guilty of Eastmoor murder will serve at least 18 years in prison

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man charged in the murder of a 20-year-old in east Columbus 11 months ago was found guilty and will serve at least 18 years in prison.
According to court documents, a Franklin County Court of Common Pleas jury found Dayveion Carroll guilty of two counts of murder and a weapons charge pertaining to the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Saadiq Teague.
Teague was found in the 100 block of South Hampton Road during the afternoon of Jan. 16 in the Eastmoor neighborhood. Witnesses reported they heard yelling and screaming and between 10-to-15 “pops” in the alley behind some South Hampton Rd. homes.
Police said Carroll was considered armed and dangerous after being identified as a suspect on Jan. 19 and he was arrested four days later.
Carroll was found guilty on two counts of murder, which were merged together for sentencing. A judge issued him a prison sentence of 15-years-to-life, plus three years for having weapons under disability.
